Men's Resources
Why Fatherhood Matters in Indian River County
With the recent launch of Care Net’s Fatherhood Program
Men are choosing life for their unborn children alongside their partners.
With helpful resources, and a “fatherhood coach” to help them navigate the seasons of pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting, families are given a greater chance at success.
“Many men don’t have a clue how to be a husband, partner or father, let alone a good one,” says Anthony Onorato, Fatherhood Coordinator for Care Net IRC.
Why is a pregnancy center encouraging and equipping fathers? The first person a pregnant woman tells, and the most influential person in her pregnancy decision, is the father.
“There is no higher calling or reward than being a father,” Onarato says. “We equip dads and walk with them through the entire journey.”

Become a Fatherhood Coach
A fatherhood coach can be a deeply rewarding path
1. Make a Real Difference in Men’s Lives
Many fathers struggle silently—emotionally, financially, or in their relationships. As a coach, you provide a space for them to open up, learn, and grow. You help men become the dads they want to be.
2. Strengthen Families and Communities
When fathers are present, engaged, and healthy, it has ripple effects. Children thrive, relationships stabilize, and communities become stronger. Coaching fathers supports family well-being at its foundation.
3. Fill a Critical Gap
There are lots of resources for moms—but far fewer tailored to dads. Many fathers feel overlooked or unsure of their role. A fatherhood coach helps fill that gap with guidance, tools, and accountability.
4. Share Hard-Earned Wisdom
If you’ve been through your own parenting struggles, learned from them, and grown—why keep it to yourself? Coaching gives you the opportunity to turn your lessons into someone else’s lifeline.
5. Build a Fulfilling Career (or Side Calling)
Whether you do it full-time or on the side, fatherhood coaching can be a meaningful career. You can work 1-on-1, lead groups, partner with nonprofits, or create online programs and content.
6. Advocate for Positive Masculinity
Coaching gives you a platform to help reshape what healthy masculinity and fatherhood look like—emotionally present, supportive, responsible, and nurturing.
7. Personal Growth
Helping others grow inevitably challenges you to grow as well. It keeps you reflective, humble, and continually learning—especially about yourself as a man and a father.
